The Longitudinal Complex Assessment (LongiKid®) is a type of sensorimotor test (SMT) designed to evaluate the sensory, motor, and cognitive skills of children aged 3 months to 11 years.
This assessment is essential for determining the baseline level of a child’s TSMT® or HRG therapy. It is recommended when a child shows signs of developmental delays across multiple areas or when parents or professionals deem therapy necessary due to a diagnosis or specific symptoms.

Why Participate in the Longitudinal Complex Assessment?
The LongiKid® Assessment is relatively simple to administer and takes place in the presence of the parent. The evaluation process is straightforward and quick, providing an age-appropriate profile of the child’s skills in the following areas:
- Nervous System Maturity: Assesses primitive reflex profiles, atypical reactions, and subcortical motor functions.
- Motor Skills: Measures abilities related to gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and graphomotor skills for smooth coordination and execution of movement.
- Cognitive Skills: Evaluates 18 abilities across five domains of attention, offering insights into school readiness and, if necessary, providing special education guidance to parents.
- Language Skills: Determines expressive and receptive language abilities, aiding in the development of precise intervention plans for delayed speech or language disorders.
- Psychosocial Skills: Examines the child’s cooperation, interactions, and task engagement.
- Additional Areas: Evaluators are trained to assess posture and muscle tone with input from physiotherapists. Audiological and vision screening protocols are also included, helping to identify potential sensory issues, with recommendations for specialist care if needed.
Even if a child does not exhibit noticeable developmental delays, the assessment is valuable for providing parents with objective insights into their child’s current state in these domains. The results can inform decisions about preschool or school placement and extracurricular activities.
The assessment can be repeated every three months for younger children and every six months from age two onwards, offering a way to monitor symptoms or potential concerns over time.
